Northern Haiti Sustainability Initiative, Incorporated (NHSI) was founded to provide for the long-term sustainability of schools in Northern Haiti. An unfortunate reality is that many schools in Haiti are constructed with no plan for sustaining daily operations.

NHSI provides training and funds to properly budget and finance teacher wages, books, school supplies, daily student meals, on campus water sources, and the maintenance and enhancement of the school's facilities

NHSI requires rigid budgetary discipline backed by strict expense documentation for all supported schools. An integral component of each school's long-term success is the financial and hands-on participation of the students' parents and local community.
